Thistle reached the Junior Cup quarter finals this season (2000-2001),
and after
dumping Beith
from the North Ayrshire Cup beat Ardrossan in the semi-finals by a late goal.
They made a poor start in the Western League Division 2,
but scored a rake of goals in their recent matches and after winnning the crucial
Ardeer game,
the Darvel one, and a goalless draw away at Muirkirk are now officially promoted
back to the 1st division where they belong.
The 6th goal against Darvel was the 100th this season!
We look forward to the 101st.
They are now (3rd June) in 3rd place and are officially promoted. Our table (left) shows Thistle
in 3rd place, if shown in order of percentage of possible points achieved.
Check Stuart's recent results and coming fixtures.
Last Season (1999-2000) in Division 1, Thistle scored the
last goal,
in the 2nd leg of the playoff in an inspired 2nd half, after hitting the post twice and just missing
with a beautiful inswinging corner. The 2-2 draw against Hurlford was just not enough
to keep Largs from relegation.
